The International SeaKeepers Society is accepting research proposals for DISCOVERY Yacht expeditions. The SeaKeepers DISCOVERY Yacht Program provides marine scientists with a unique and cost-effective platform for at-sea research by placing researchers on privately owned vessels to conduct oceanographic research. SeaKeepers is committed to promoting ocean research, education, and conservation. We are looking for high-impact projects that support our missions, foster scientific collaboration, and stimulate further exploration. Research Project Application Join Seabed 2030 Project: A Global Citizen Science Initiative SeaKeepers has partnered with The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO in a collaborative program called Seabed 2030 Project. This initiative is coordinated to oversee the sourcing and compilation of bathymetric data to collect depth measurements from vessels using standard navigation instruments while engaged in routine maritime operations. D/Y Application Learn more Education Murals & E-Workbooks In partnership with the talented team at Canvas of the Wild, The International SeaKeepers Society is excited to present the Wildscapes Unveiled” educational outreach project. Our goal is to invite South Florida students to explore three vital native environments; the Everglades, Mangrove Forests, and the Western Central Atlantic Pelagic. Learning about how these places support the health of Florida’s ecology and economy, as well as the threatened species that play a role in maintaining these systems. Students will have the opportunity to learn about these habitats through three interactive displays with embedded touchpoints that link to species and habitat information on the Canvas of the Wild knowledge base. An e-workbook will also accompany the murals, which will also guide students and teachers through each featured habitat display and provide supplemental curriculum. LEARN MORE Educational Lesson Plans SeaKeepers works with marine educators and other non-profits to provide groups with local marine biology field trips, and also has online resources available for classes that are unable to travel. The goal of our resources is to provide fun, interesting ways to engage the next generation in environmental conservation.
